Description

Folios 221-222: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Immortalité, Long Reach. Encloses a letter from the Board of Customs requesting the discharge of Daniel Parker, whose impressment he reported the previous day. He will await further orders.

Folio 223: enclosed with folios 221-222. Letter dated 6 May 1803 from Captain Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Immortalité, Long Reach, to the Admiralty. As he understands that an application is being made from the Custom House for the discharge of Daniel Parker, reports that Parker was impressed in a public house in Greenhithe among a number of men employed by the Customs, but that he had no protection on him.

Folio 224: enclosed with folios 221-222. Note dated 26 April 1803 and signed by R Weskett, Gravesend, stating that Daniel Parker should row in the galley Bengall Anna taking the place of John Green who is sick.

Folio 225: enclosed with folios 221-222. Letter dated 6 May 1803 from J Haime, Secretary, Custom House, London, to the commander of HMS Immortalité, Long Reach. Requests the discharge of Daniel Parker, waterman, who was impressed by a Lieutenant of Marines from HMS Immortalité.
