Folios 313-314: Terence O'Neill, Poole. Sending his form of returns and apologising for his recruiting parties' lack of success to date. However, the merchants of the town have now said they will increase the bounty still further, to almost double what it had been. He will recruit with the double bounty as most of the merchants' ships are now at sea and the sailors in port will have no recourse other than to enter or be impressed. Also he has finally managed to set up a Rendezvous at Swanage, by the Fort House, which will be enlarged by subscriptions of £20, and he has agreed to pay it off at a rate of 10s a week so that it will eventually become the property of HM. He has promised not to impress any local men who carry a certificate from the merchants that they have never been to sea. He will be needing another boat, and says he can procure one locally with little expense. Ends with a note of some expenses on rent, coals, and hire of a boat.
