Folios 274-275: Terence O'Neill, Poole. Submitting two queries on circumstances for impress. First, does shipping a quantity of goods as described in an enclosed document entitle a seaman to be considered a merchant or a passenger, and therefore protected from impress? Second, are apprentices, if under age but otherwise serviceable, liable to impress when their indentures are not with the vessel?Folio 276: enclosed with folios 274-275. Custom House document dated 17 March 1803 stating that Roger White entered Poole in the Squid, master Henry Iver, for Newfoundland, with 12 dozen fishing lines, 216 lbs twine, 12 garments, 100 yards flannel, 2 dozen woollens etc for the fishery.
