Folios 261-262: Terence O'Neill, Poole. Acknowledging receipt of Admiralty instructions to impress men for the service, and asking that his lieutenants be forwarded immediately. Also stresses his need for a 6-oared cutter, which he says is infinitely preferable to anything that can be hired here, but in the meantime he has had to hire one, exorbitant and 'infamous' though the charge is. Advises that the seamen have all left the port to stay in local villages, their expenses assisted by local merchants - he is formulating plans to round them up but says he is 'as yet a novice in this service'.
