Folios 252-253: Henry Maneton Ommanney, HMS Falcon, Spithead. He has received a breakdown of the increased complement for his ship to 100 men, now to include 2 mates and 2 midshipmen, but he notes that the previous arrangement allowed for 4 midshipmen, one of whom is William Pitman, recently appointed mate by the Commissioners. He asks if he is to keep Mr Pitman in that situation in the Falcon or whether he may soon be discharged into another ship, in which case Ommanney could bring forward one of the extra midshipmen who would otherwise be discharged.
