Folios 339-340: Edward William Campbell Richard Owen, HMS Immortalite, Dungeness Road. The Admiralty ordered him to put himself under the command of Captain Alexander Fraser of HMS Amphion. When he anchored the previous evening Captain Thomas Masterman Hardy, who now commands HMS Amphion but who is junior to Captain Owen, communicated his orders to Captain Owen. In the circumstances he awaits the Admiralty's instructions on how he is to conduct himself. He encloses his ship's accounts (not enclosed).
Folio 341: enclosure to folios 339-340. A letter from Edward William Campbell Owen, HMS Immortalite, Dungeness dated 22 July 1802 to the Admiralty. He acknowledges the Admiralty's order dated 19 July 1802 and also Evan Nepean's letter of 16 July 1802 which enclosed a copy of a letter from Mr Nicholas Vansittart, Secretary to the Treasury. I encloses a report on the state of his ship (not enclosed.)
