Folios 179-180: Edward William Campbell Rich Owen, HMS Nemesis. He encloses copies of three letters he wrote to the Navy Commissioners about the bounty of Page Montgomery who is a seaman on board his vessel. He has not received a reply to any of them. The letters detail the history of the case and he would be grateful to receive directions on how to proceed.
Folios 181-182: enclosure to folios 179-180. Copy letter from Captain Owen to the Admiralty dated 14 April 1801. Page Montgomery was serving as a seaman on board and East Indiaman and was drafted into the Navy in 1796 at Spithead. He joined HMS Tremendous but that ship sailed before he was paid his bounty. If this is the case he asks that he now be paid.Second copy letter from Captain Owen to the Admiralty dated 16 May 1801. He refers to his letter of 14 April 1801, restates the case of Page Montgomery and asks for directions on whether he should be paid his bounty.Third copy letter from Captain Owen to the Admiralty dated 17 July 1801. Referring to the two early letters and asking for a reply.
