Folios 261-262: Robert Dudley Oliver, HMS Mermaid, Lisbon. Advises that in addition to his letter sent yesterday on the Lady Harriot Packet, he is sending a duplicate of the intelligence about the French Fleet sailing from Cadiz. Advises he applied to Don Rodrigo, Portuguese Marine Minister who agreed to immediately send a vessel to England. Advises that General Cuyler has had official intelligence that the Spanish Fleet has also sailed from Cadiz and that 7 ships arme en flute had been fitted out to take troops from the French ships. Advises he has nothing further to report on the British Fleet since being seen off Carthagena.
