Reporting that he has been served with the enclosed writ of Habeas Corpus [not present] for Thomas Betts, landsman, who entered on board at Sheerness 24 November 1796 and paid bounty of £1:10:00. He is an apprentice to Richard Cook, a cooper at Gravesend and requests how to proceed.
