Folios 371-372: Edward Oliver Osborn, HMS Trident, Spithead. Reports he is having difficulty getting the ship ready for sea because of the frequent changes to his Lieutenants. He now learns that Lieutenant Thomas Legard has been appointed to the ship, asks if John Stoyle of HMS Pompee, who has just been given his Lieutenant's commission and appointed to HMS l' Espiegle, could instead be appointed to HMS Trident.
