Description

Folios 274-275: Charles Ogle, HMS Petterel, Plymouth Sound. Encloses an acting warrant from Vice Admiral George Vandeput for Alexander Gallaway as Boatswain, asks that it be confirmed. Explains that the previous Boatswain, Joseph Crayton, was sent to Deal Hospital in May and has since gone absent without leave.

Folio 276: enclosed with folio 274. Warrant dated 15 May 1795 and signed by Vice Admiral George Vandeput, HMS Jupiter, the Downs, appointing Alexander Gallway as acting Boatswin of HMS Petterell.
