Folios 178-179: John Orde, HMS Venerable, Torbay. Reports that the seven petty officers whose names are listed, who were discharged from HMS Asia into HMS Venerable in July, have never joined. As his ship is still short of petty officers, asks the Admiralty what steps they should take. Postscript. The seven men were reported as absent with leave at the date of their discharge, and on the receipt given for them they were to be ordered to join HMS Venerable as soon as possible.
