Folios 115-116: Christopher Cooke (Navy Agent), London. Report that the Navy Board have declined to pass the books of HMS Avenger because Charles Ogle did not take surveys of the Carpenter's or Boatswain's stores and omitted to certify that none were expended between June and September. Explains that HMS Avenger was not then in company with any other ship and her crew were very sickly. Encloses a certificate from Commander Ogle and asks that the Admiralty direct that these formalities can be dispensed with so he can draw his pay.
Folio 117: enclosed with folios 115-116. Certificate dated 22 December 1794 by Charles Ogle that no Carpenter's stores were expended aboard HMS Avenger between May and September and that the reason no survey was taken of either Carpenter's or Boatswain's stores was that there was no other ship in company, the crew was sickly and the Carpenter was dead.
