Folios 102-103: Chaloner Ogle, 32 Golden Square. Encloses a commission from Vice Admiral Sir John Jervis appointing his son, Lieutenant Charles Ogle, to command HMS Avenger, asks for this to be confirmed.
Folio 104: enclosed with folios 102-103. Commission dated 21 May 1794 from Vice Admiral Sir John Jervis, Commander in Chief, Leeward Islands, appointing Lieutenant Charles Ogle as Commander of HMS Avenger. Countersigned by George Purvis on behalf of the Admiral.
Folios 105-106: enclosed with folios 102-103. Note from Sir Chaloner Ogle to Philip Stephens, Secretary of the Admiralty. Asks the Admiralty to confirm his son Lieutenant Charles Ogle's commision to command HMS Avenger, in place of Captain Edward Griffith who has been appointed to HMS Undaunted.
