States having sent a letter through the Commander in Chief at this Port from Lieutenant Hugh Colville Goldsmith requesting he may be superseded for reasons therein stated and should they be pleased to grant his request - He begs leave to apply for an appointment to fill his situation Lieutenant William Morris (1st) late of HMS Jason to be Lieutenant of HMS Chesapeake.
