Folios 122-123: Francis Newcombe, HMS Wanderer, Spithead. Reports that having parted company from HMS Ethalion on the night of then 23 November 1813 on the Banks of Newfoundland He endeavoured to fall in with them again, without success and proceeded on with the Convoy rate of sailing to this anchorage, according to his orders (enclosure No 2) and in the event of HMS Ethalion not having arrived from Brandy Pots. He encloses [not present] a List of the Convoy which sailed with her on 13 November 1813. He further acquaints that the whole of the outward-bound Troop Ships and Victuallers with others arrived at Quebec by 5 November 1813 after experiencing some heavy Gales, many of them got aground in the river going up to Quebec but none sustained any material damage. He has sent Sir George Provost's dispatches to the Post Office addressed to Earl Bathurst.
Folio 124: enclosure with folios 122-123. (No 1) Letter dated 27 October 1813 by Edmund Heywood, HMS Ethalion, to Francis Newcombe, HMS Wanderer. Orders to proceed to Quebec and having collected the homeward bound Trade going there you will (with them) rejoin him at Brandy Pots Island.
Folio 125: enclosure with folios 122-123. (No 2) Letter dated 10 November 1813 by Edmund Heywood, HMS Ethalion, to Francis Newcombe, HMS Wanderer. In the event of your separating from HMS Ethalion (which you are by all means to avoid) and not rejoining by steering a course for the British Channel, you are to proceed to Spithead, taking with you any of the Convoy that may also separate, that you meet with.
