Folios 494-495: John Toup Nicholas, HMS Pilot, Malta. Reports that a deserter from HMS Lightning John Grieve, who has just rejoined, has informed him that John Simpson who escaped at the same time as Grieve is now on board HMS Lightning. Asks that Simpson be returned to HMS Pilot as he deserted under very aggravated circumstances and gives details of the man's actions.
