Description

Folios 111-112: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Lieutenant William Parker commanding the Cleveland Tender attached to this Station giving a statement of an unfortunate occurrence at St Ives on the 7 June 1806 wherein a Man was killed by a Musket Shot in attempting to bring to a Boat. Lieutenant William Parker encloses an account of the transaction as given by the Master, Mr Peter Barber, who was left in charge of the Tender during his absence on shore.

Folio 113: enclosure with folios [attached] 111-112: [Admiralty note] dated 24 July 1806. Send this letter with the statements to Mr Bicknell for his report.

Folios 114-115: enclosure with folios 111-112: Petition dated 17 July 1806 byt Chris [Christrian] Harvey of St Ives, Cornwall, to the Admiralty. About his son Richard Harvey who was shot and died on 7 June 1806Folios 116-117: enclosure with folios 111-112. Letter dated 19 June 1806 by Thomas [?], St Ives, to William Marsden, Admiralty. Covering letter for the enclosed inquisition taken on the body of Richard Harvey (who was killed in a boat at this place on 7 June 1806) together with a copy of the affidavits of Henry [?] and John Hainy[?] Seamen who were in thew Boat with him at the time of the death.

Folios 118-119: enclosure with folios 111-112. Letter dated 19 June 1806 by William Parker, HM Tender [HMS] Clevland, Swansea, to Thomas New, Regulating Captain, Swansea. Statement on the incident on the 7 June 1806.

Folios 120-121: enclosure with folios 118-119. Peter Barber. Statement Sworn and Signed on 16 June 1806 before one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Glamorgan. Rowland Prichard. Statement on the incident on the 7 June 1806.

Folio 122: enclosure with folios 111-112. Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. To Lieutenant William Parker, [HMS] Clevland Tender. Orders dated 31 May 1806. To Cruise between the Mumbles Point and Lands End, Occasionally to send a Boat into the small Harbours and Creeks of the Bristol Channel and to receive information on the Homeward bound West India Fleet and keep a good-look out for the same. As per your Impress Warrant.
