Folio 378: James Northey, HMS Curlew, off Hastings. He reports on the case of John Duplessis, alias John Neeridess, who is a French refugee from St' Domingo. John Duplessis was impressed and when French prisoners of war were onboard he demanded to be given the same status.
Folios 379-380: enclosed with folio 378. Letter dated 1 May 1804 by John Duplessis. He gives an account of how he was impressed and says that he wishes to be treated as a prisoner of war. (In French).
Folio 381: enclosed with folio 378. Letter dated 17 October 1803 by Elias Cabot. He certifies that John Duplessis served him as a Steward on the George sailing from Martinique to Antwerp.
Folio 382: enclosed with folio 378. Certificate issued at Bordeaux to Citizen John Duplessis. (In French).
Folio 383: enclosed with folio 378. Letter dated 5 December 1802 by Henry de Loutherbourg, Martinique. He certifies that John Duplessis served as Mate on the Martha.
