Description

Folios 367-368: James Norman, HMS Medusa (1794). He gives an account of the circumstances under which the convoy of 135 ships he was escorting from Jamaica to England was attacked by a French squadron who captured 22 ships. He blames the disobedience of the Captains of the merchant ships for the event and also claims that his subsequent court martial was conducted improperly.
