Folios 247-248: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. He writes to ask if he can be allowed the cost of sending men to collect Seamen. He has been notified by Samuel Homfray JP, owner of the Myrthyr Ironworks that he has two suitable men for him and there is another man at Cowbridge who he wishes to collect. He says the the people in the area can be very violent against the Press Gang so he needs to send a party.
Folios 249-250: enclosed with folios 247-248. Letter dated 3 March 1804 by Messrs Duncan, Gambeer and Hartsnolle, Navy Office. They inform Thomas New that he needs Admiralty authorisation if he is to claim travel expenses for his men.
Folios 251-253: enclosed with folios 247-248. Letter dated 20 December 1803 by Samuel Monfray, Penydarran Place. He writes to Thomas New to inform him that he has two young men in custody who would be suitable to serve in the navy.
