Folios 289-290: James Northey, HMS Curlew, Gallions. Sent a letter yesterday regarding the guns, and giving his opinion , as well as that of the Officers that they are unsuitable. Mr Gavan has just appeared on board, and agrees that 8 of the guns will be of no use. He has sent the First Lieutenant with this letter for information.
