Folios 222-223: John Nicholas, HMS Eurydice, Needles. Lieutenant Mayer has returned to his duty, and has presented the enclosed letter.
Folios 224-225: enclosure with folios 222-223. Letter dated 2 November 1803 from Charles Mayer, HMS Eurydice, to Captain Nicholas. Reports that he was arrested on the day he went on shore, and having no friends at Portsmouth to provide bail, had to rely on friends in London who were out of town at the time.
