Folios 212-213: James Newman Newman, Blackbrook Cottage, Fareham. When he captured the French frigate La Pallas (?now Le Regue ) he found her launch identical to the boat Sydney Smith was captured in (the launch of HMS Diamond). As the Officers and crew presented him with the boat, he asked that she be allowed to stay in the camber of Plymouth Yard. Requests directions for her to be released to any person he nominates and to be made seaworthy.
