Folios 194-195: John Newhouse, HMS Dictator. Statement of cases of pressed men on HMS Dictator, sent by order of Rear Admiral Rowley. William Marsh, Cornelius De Vos: discharged - Prussian subjects. Benjamin Turner, William Imprey, Jonathon Grant, Edward Anderson, John Benson - volunteers who have received the bounty. Jonathon Middeton: states he is American. Was pressed in London, has no documents to prove his citizenship, has not received the bounty. John Hayes, George Milchorn - ditto. Robert Neal: proves that he was Chief Mate of a Yarmouth brig. He awaits instructions respecting John Middleton, John Hayes, George Milcham and Robert Neale.
Folio 196: enclosure with folios 194-195. Admiralty slip dated 13 August 1803 with instruictions for dealing with Captain Newhouse's letter (12 August).
Folio 197: enclosure with folios 194-195. Petition dated 26 July 1803 from Ann Crane to The Admiralty. She is the widow of William Crane, Citizen and Blacksmith of London, whose Apprentice William Impey eloped 2 months ago and entered as a Landsman, now on board HMS Dictator. Requests his discharge.
Folios 198-199: enclosure with folios 194-195. Letter dated 4 August 1803 from [illegible signature ? J Newman] to The Admiralty. Abraham John Paterson, whose indenture is enclosed [not present] left his master's service and is now on board HMS Dictator under the name Edward Anderson. Requests an order for his discharge.
Folios 200-201: enclosure with folios 194-195. Petition dated 26 July 1803 from George Pidgeon, Great Yarmouth, to The Admiralty. He is owner of the brig Active of Great Yarmouth. Petition for the discharge of Robert Neale, Chief Mate of the Active, who was taken on 26 July despite being in possession of a Chief Mate's affidavit from the Magistrate.
