Folios 178-179: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Reports that the situation of a number of the men pressed by himself and Officers folowing the order of 5 November leads him to ask for instructions, as he wishes to avoid clashing with the Sea Fencibles. John Evans, apprentice to James Reynolds was taken by Lieutenant Heard. His 3 years expired 25 August. Can the Sea Fencibles certificate protect his from being pressed? Captain Jones of the Sea Fencibles has applied for him to be released to him, but agrees to wait for the decision. William Bowden and William Scamp are Able Seamen. One produced a certificate from Captain George Bowen and the other from Lieutenant Charles Wintout. Neither are Mates, but have been doing that duty. All three men have been detained on the tender awaiting directions.
Folio 180: enclosure with folios 178-179. Indenture dated 25 August 1800 in the name of Daniel Evan, apprenticed for 5 years to James Reynolds.
Folio 181: enclosure with folios 178-179. Certificate dated 22 October 1803 signed by R Jones. Sea Fencibles certificate number 408 in the name of Daniel Evans, apprentice to James Reynolds. Entolled in the Glamorgan and Monmouth Sea Fencibles on 22 October 1803.
Folio 182: enclosure with folios 178-179. Certifcate dated 31 July 1803, signed by Captain George Bowen, in the name of William Bowden, enrolled as a Sea Fencible at Minehead District.
Folio 183: enclosure with folios 178-179. Certificate dated 19 September 1803, signed by Lieutenant Charles Wintour, in the name of William Scamp, enrolled as a Sea Fencible at Minehead District.
