Folios 169-170: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Some time ago he reported that he intended to employ the United Brothers tender under his orders to visit small harbours and creeks on the coast to procure men. This was approved and was successful, but would have been even more so if the tender was a more convenient size. It is too large for the intended use. Requests a vessel half its size. He has communicated with Captain Barker of Bristol and they agree they should exchange the United Brothers and the Cleveland tenders - the latter is under Captain Barker's orders and too small to lay at Kingwood in the winter.
