Folios 168: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Reports information from Carmarthen that the Favourite hired tender arrived there about a fortnight ago as ordered by the Navy Board. Lieutenant Roach, who had been appointed there on the Impress Service, left a month before the tender arrived and his party has been broken up folowing violent opposition from the locals. The duty at Carmarthen is not immediately under Captain New's direction, but he thought it is his duty to report so that another person might be appointed, or the tender employed elsewhere.
