Folios 147-148: Thomas New, Regulating Officer, Swansea. Reports his arrival as ordered to raise men. He expects success as there are a number of vessels in port, or expected. As he found no Navy vessels in the vicinity, where pressed men could be sent, he applied to the Magistrates for use of the town's jail but they have refused, alledging it is insecure
