Folios 252-253: James Nash, Regulating Captain, Leith Rendezvous. Reports that his gangs last night impressed William Bremner, Mate of the Favorite, and John Miller, Mate of the Hope, on shore at Edinburgh while their vessels were at Leith. Neither man had any protection certificate on him.
Folios 254-255: enclosed with folios 252-253. Letter dated 8 October 1803 from William Smith, Proctor to the High Court of Admiralty, Leith, to the Admiralty. Encloses a memorial for their Lordships.
Folios 256-257: enclosed with folios 254-255. Memorial dated 7 October 1803 from John Farquahar, Master of the Hope of Aberdeen and Donald Durand, Master of the Favorite of Wick, addressed to the Admiralty. Seek the discharge of their Mates, William Bremner and John Miller, who were impressed in Edinburgh when they did not have their protection certificates with them. Regulating Captain James Nash says he cannot discharge them without an order from the Admiralty.
