Folios 250-251: James Nash, Regulating Captain, Leith Rendezvous. Acknowledges the letter of 3 October and reports that he examined the man it refers to, Sailmaker James Campbell, and found him in a poor state of health. Campbell produced a discharge certificate giving him a pension, and so Captain Nash agreed to discharge him and give him the protection certificate referred to in the Admiralty's letter as soon as he returned with a good seaman to take his place.
