Folios 159-160: James Nash, Regulating Captain, Leith Rendezvous. Reports he has been making further enquiries about the supposed French warship which was seen by the City of Dantzig, including talking to a Prussian who speaks good English. He is now satisfied that she was an English vessel. Describes the uniform worn by the boarding officer and the description of the boat he used. Reports that John Sleman, whom he has been ordered to discharge, has already been sent to the Nore in the Revenue vessel Royal Charlotte. He has sent an officer to Aberdeen to collect Robert Hamilton, who is ordered to Winchester to stand trial. Acknolwedges receipt of the letter to the Captain of HMC Defence, and the press warrants for Lieutenants William Murray and Charles Elder.
