Description

Folios 256-257: [Christopher] Cooke and [James] Halford, Beaufort Buildings, [Strand, London]. Enclosing a Commission for the Admiralty's confirmation, from Right Honourable Lord Hugh Seymour appointing Lieutenant Thomas New, Commander of HMS Bonetta, in the place of [John] Maughan who died.

Folio 258: enclosure with folios 256-257. Original Parchment Warrant dated 10 August 1801 signed by Lord Hugh Seymour, Vice Admiral of the Blue and Commander in Chief of His Majesty's Ships and Vessels employed at Jamaica and the Bahama Islands, to Lieutenant Thomas New appointing him Commander to HMS Bonetta after [John] Maughan's death. Also signed by Edward Ward, By Command of the Admiral.
