Description

Folios 165-166: Josiah Nisbet, HMS Thalia, Plymouth Sound. Enclosing Vice Admiral Lord Keith's Orders [Sir George Keith Elphinstone], that he has delivered the Dispatches to the Commanding Officer at this Port and that he awaits his Orders.

Folios 167-168: enclosure with folios 165-166. Order dated 15 September 1800 from Lord Keith Knight of the Bath, Vice Admiral of the Red and Commander in Chief of his Majesty's Ships and Vessels in the Mediterranean on board HMS Foudroyant in Gibraltar Bay to Josiah Nisbet, Captain of HMS Thalia. Ordering him to proceed with the Dispatches to Spithead or Plymouth Sound and deliver them to the Commander in Chief. If forced into Falmouth, he should forward these on by Post. On arrival, you are to advise the Admiralty. Also signed By Command of the Vice Admiral by Nicholas Brown.

Folio 169: enclosure with folios 165-166. Original parchment Warrant dated 7th December 1799 signed by the Right Honourable Lord Keith KB, Vice Admiral of the Red (and By Command of the Vice Admiral by [Nicholas Brown?]) to Lieutenant William Robertson (the 2nd) appointing him to be Lieutenant on board HMS Thalia.
