Folios 101-102: James Newman Newman, HMS Loire, Spithead. Asking for greater assistance and measures to completely rid his Ship from the Rats. Despite a man being sent on board from Plymouth Dock Yard to destroy them and having stayed on board until the Ship was ordered to sea, only 40-50 had by then been killed. Reporting that they have increased so much that they had destroyed 7 casks of food in 1 day as well as damaging sails and other stores.
