Folios 245-246: James Newman, HMS Mermaid, Cawsands Bay. He requests that two weeks leave of absence to be asked of Admiral Sir Richard King. His ship is in course of payment and the books will be sent up for that purpose. He also asks that the appointment of Lieutenant Rayneras the senior lieutenant which will not be the case if Lieutenant Ormsby joins his ship.
