Folios 222-223: Harry Burrard Neale, HMS San Fiorenzo, Cawsands Bay. He announces his arrival with a Spanish brig in tow. It is loaded with goods and was captured by him on 13 December in the bay near Pravia. He and HMS Cambrian and HMS Triton had been involved in the chase but HMS Cambrian parted company with him on 7 December and HMS Triton on 14th December. He had signalled to both of them to rendezvous west of Corunna. But given the damage his ship suffered he decided instead to return to Britian with his prize. He encloses a copy of Lord Bridport's orders to him and of his order to Captains Arthur Kaye Legge and Anselm John Griffiths. Also his Journal and the state and condition of his ship.(the latter two items not enclosed.)Folios 224-225: enclosure to folios 222-223. An order given to Sir Harry Neale of HMS San Fiorenzo by Lord Bridport, Admiral of the White, aboard HMS Royal George in Torbay on 22 October 1798. He is ordered to cruise off the ports of Corunna and San Andro for the purpose of intercepting any enemy vessels. He shall not go south of Cape Finistère unless engaged in a chase. HMS Cambrian, Fisgard and Nymphe are engaged in a similar service. If he meets them he should take the first two under his command and tell Captain Percy Fraser of HMS Nymphe to rejoin the squadron, and to cruise off Brest, but if he should miss them, to return to Cawsands Bay for a refit and then return to the squadron as quickly as possible. Captain Neale is to remain with HMS Cambrian and Fisgard as long as San Fiorenzo's water holds out, after which he is to return to Cawsands Bay where he is to reprovision with all speed and then rejoin the squadron, unless he receives orders to the contrary.. As there are so many enemy ships about he is to be cautious and avoid separation at all costs.
Folios 226-227: enclosure to folios 222-223. An order from Sir Harry Neale from HMS San Fiorenzo to Sir Arthur Kaye Legge of HMS Cambrian dated 22 November 1798. He is ordered to cruise off the ports of Corunna and San Andero for the purpose of intercepting enemy ships. He is to go no further than Cape Finistère unless engaged in a chase. He is to avoid being separated from the rest of the squadron but in the event that happens he is to return to his station with all speed and join Sir Harry Neale. In the event he does not find HMS San Fiorenzo then he is to go to Cawsands Bay, get his vessel refitted and re provisioned and join Lord Bridport's squadron.
