Folios 378-379: John Mackellar, HMS Romney, Chatham. States that Mr Willie, Purser on HMS Salisbury has notified Mr W R Shugar, Purser on HMS Romney that through Lord Melville he has been told he will continue in post on this ship. However Admiral Douglas was promised that he is allowed the officers for whom he applied to be appointed to his Flag and for this reason he asks that Mr Shugar be appointed to HMS Salisbury. Mr Shugar has already laid in his stores and necessaries requisite for the Jamaica Station.
Folios 380-381: enclosure with folios 378-379. Admiralty note dated 12 December 1815. States W R Shugar to be Purser on HMS Salisbury.
