Description

Folios 296-297: Murray Maxwell, 12 Jackville Street, [Picadilly]. Response to state any alterations that may be needed to HMS Alceste before her voyage. Advises that her previous Commander, Captain Daniel Lawrence, informed him that under light winds she was unmanagable for want of canvas. Recommends a smaller rig be fitted before her voyage to the Yellow Sea, where she will encounter light winds and narrow channels.
