Folios 185-186 : W L Miller [Clerk?], HMS Newcastle, Woolwich. Request for employment as he has a widowed mother to provide for and she is presently living with her daughter, who has a large family. States he worked 3 years with the Consul General of the Azores at St Michael's providing His Majesty's Ships with water and provisions, including corn to Lord Wellington's Army in Portugal. From there he joined Lord George Stuart as Clerk on HMS Horatio in October 1813.
