Folios 149-150: Henry Montressor, HMS Dictator, Plymouth. Reports his arrival at Quebec on 26 July 1815 with HMS Weser, HMS Trave having arrived on 25 July 1815. Encloses folios 151-168. Sates that a party of Seamen form the Lakes who arrived too late for the convoy under the Orders of Lord George Stewart have travelled with him, along with Artificers who have been sent down to him during his time in Quebec.
Folios 151-152: enclosure with folios 149-150. Letter dated 27 August 1815 from Henry Montressor, HMS Dictator, Quebec to Captain John Codd, HMS Trave. Orders from Sir Gordon Drummond that it is imperative that himself, Alexander Loie, Master; John Griffiths, Surgeon; William Parkin and William Roberts, Shipwrights, should appear on 18 September 1815 to give evidence at the trail of Francis Ansell for the murder of William Thompson. States that he is to remain at anchorage until the trail but should it be postponed he is directed to make it known to his Excellency that HMS Trave will not remain but will take the transports under convoy to Plymouth.

True copy of letter dated 25 August 1815 from Norman Fitzgerald Uniacke, Attorney General [Lower Canada] to Sir Gordon Drummond, Administrator in Chief of Upper and Lower Canada. Orders Sir Gordon Drummond that himself, Alexander Louie, Master, John Griffiths, Surgeon, William Parkin and William Roberts, Shipwrights should appear on 18 September 1815 to give evidence at the trail of Francis Ansell for the murder of William Thompson. Charged with his murder by stabbing is Francis Ansell, Ship's Corporal. Witness statements are given by: William Parkin, Shipwright; William Roberts, Shipwright; Captain John Codd; Alexander Louie, Master; John Griffith, Surgeon; Thomas Lloyd, Surgeon of the Royal Artillery; Richard Bleach, Private Royal Marine; Captain Bartholomew Kent, HMS Weser; and Thomas Hully, seaman.

Letter dated 26 August 1815 from Andrew William Cochrane, Appointed Court Secretary, Carth of St Lewis, Quebec to Captain Henry Montressor, HMS Dictator. Encloses a copy of a letter [folios 165-166] requesting the detaining and attendance of the witnesses mentioned in that letter to give evidence in the trial of Francis Ansell for murder.

Reports adjournment of trial due to the non-attendance of the Chief Justice of the District of Montreal to now take place on Monday 18 September 1815. Requests that Captain John Codd, HMS Trave; Alexander Louie, Master; John Griffiths, Surgeon; William Parkin and William Roberts, Shipwrights who are about to leave the Province, are made available to attend on 18 September 1815. They are Crown witnesses in the prosecution against Francis Ansell for the murder of William Thompson.
Folios 167-168: enclosure with folios 149-150. Letter dated 3 August 1815 from Commodore Sir Edward Owen, Commander in Chief, Shucks Creek, Chippuna to Captain Henry Montressor, HMS Dictator. Acknowledges the arrival of HMS Dictator, HMS Weser and HMS Trave at Quebec. States that all the seamen ordered to go to England on these ships have been sent.
