Folios 251-252: James Ashley Maude, HMS Favorite, Spithead. States that John Pollard whom served in the Navy from 1797 to 1809 in the Following Ships:- HMS Montague - Captain John Knight, HMS Courageux - Captain John Oaks Hardy, HMS Britannia - Admiral Lord Northesh [Sir William Carnegie (7th Earl Northesk)] and HMS Lavinia - Lord William Stuart. He was wounded in the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 and in 1809 after serving nearly 12 years was Invalided being unserviceable. As he did not obtain a smart ticket for the wound he received at Trafalgar, he has been deprived of the benefits.
