Description

Folios 187-188: MacDowell [James M'Dowal], Regulating Officer, Greenock. Covering letter for the enclosed letter from Messrs Crawford and Son the Law Agents at this Port in the case Robert McGrigor.

Folios 189-190: enclosure with folios 187-188. Letter dated 5 June 1815 by H Crawford & Son, Greenock, to Captain MacDouall. The case of Robert McGrigor] presently on board HMS Ornen verses Lieutenant Townly [Charles Haswell Townley] who had Command of that vessel previous to your appointment. [Legal information] either to Appeal the Cae to the Court of Sessions - or to authorise the Man's release.
