Description

Folios 110-111: MacDowell [James M'Dowal], HMS Brisk, Greenock. Reply to letter dated 16 May 1815 he states in the case of John Evans, Mate of the Sloop Alert. He was impressed by Lieutenant George Dove in consequence of his having an invalid affidavit being given him and dated previous to the date of the Vessels RegisterFolios 112-113: enclosure with folios 110-111. Letter dated 13 May 1815 by John Cross at W & A Maxwells, Liverpool, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of John Evans, Mate of the Sloop Alert.

Folios 114-115: enclosure with folios 110-111. Letter dated 13 May 1815 by W Jones, Marine Terrace, Aberystwyth, to the Admiralty. Covering letter for the enclosed affidavit and requesting the discharge of John Evans.

Folios 116-117: enclosure with folios 110-111. Morgan Francis & John Malkins, Greenock. Affidavit dated 12 May 1815 Sworn before Quintin Leitch JP. That John Evans was Mate of the Alert.
