Folios 85-86 Frederick Lewis Maitland, HMS Bellerophon, Cawsand Bay. Reports Mathew Deasy late a crewman in HMS Boyne having requested him to make application to have the R removed on the Books of HMS Boyne. Requests the R be removed.
Folios 87-88: enclosure with folios 85-86. Letter dated 12 May 1815 by Mathew Deasy, HMS Saint George, to Captain Frederick Lewis Maitland. Mathew Deasy was received from Cork by HMS Scout on 13 April 1815, noted a Deserter From HMS Boyne, with an entry of the 7 April 1815, He states that he got leave from HMS Boyne at the Cove of Cork on 24 March 1815 for forty eight hours and in consequence of his Father dying shortly after he arrived in the City of Cork, he remained there until the 6 April 1815 he was on his way to return to his ship when the Gang took him up at Cove and put him on board HMS Trent.
