Folios 1-2: MacDowell [James M'Dowal], HMS Brisk, Greenock. Reports that James Jack, Mate of the Brig Concorde of Peter[?] Head was impressed from her in this River[?]. The Master of her sailed from Peterhead without having his name indorsed on the back of the Register, consequently he had no authority to Sign the Mates Affidavit, it is however signed by a Justice of the Peace. Requests directions.
