Folios 272-273: James McDouall, Regulating Officer, HMS Ornen, Greenock. Informs that it is impossible to carry on the Impress Service in Greenock. On that day, the Lieutenant and his party were stoned by many people as they were impressing someone from one of the quays, up to the Rendezvous where the flag was torn down. Lieutenant Ecken (who is nearly blind) and the gang have requested him to ask that they be discharged. He suggests retaining them by keeping them in arrears of wages.
