Folios 140-141: Kenneth MacKenzie, HMS Venus, Woolwich. Gives information regarding the case of Joseph Rotherom, Boy aged 15, serving on board HMS Venus since 12 October 1814. Joseph states he entered on board HMS Enterprise on the Thames on 20th June 1814, was sent on board HMS Quebec, and then as a volunteer to HMS Latona.MacKenzie awaits their directions, returning the enclosure.
Folios 142-143: enclosure with folios 140-141. Letter to the Board dated 6 February 1815 from John Gisborne, Magistrate, Orgreave near Lichfield, petitioning for the release of Joseph Rotherom, an only child, now on board HMS Venus, who was an Apprentice under indenture to a cordwainer in Newton, Warwickshire. In consequence of some disputes with his Master about Sunday-work, he ran away rather than raise the unreasonable conduct of his Master to the Magistrates.
