Folios 122-123: Kenneth McKenzie, HMS Venus, Woolwich. Sending a letter from Lieutenant Peregrine Bowen, Senior of HMS Venus, for their directions.
Folio 124-125: enclosure with folios 122-123: Letter dated 1 February 1815 to Kenneth McKenzie, HMS Venus, from Lieutenant Peregrine Bowen, HMS Woolwich. Concerning the theft of £20 from him in March 1814 by Charles Simmons, then Ship's Boy, which Bowen had been keeping for Nathaniel Main, seaman of HMS Venus. Bowen has repaid Main, and paid a police officer in London to apprehend Charles Simmons. He requests McKenzie to put his case before the Commissioners so that he may in some manner be indemnified for the loss. At the time he robbed Bowen, Simmons had run from HMS Venus at Plymouth, and was due 7 months' pay. He now has 3 months as Ship's Boy and 7 months as Landsman.
