Transmitting an order he received from Vice Admiral Dixon, Commander in Chief on the coast of South America, to receive on board a Portuguese gentleman with official dispatches from the Court of Brazil. Requests renumeration for funding the voyage of this man on his ship.
Folio 460: enclosure with folios 458-459. Letter dated 8 September by Rear Admiral Manley Dixon from the Achille, Rio de Janeiro instructing Thomas Morgan to take on board Manuel Rodrigues [Gameriv Pessua] and his servant, who is bringing dispatches from the Portuguese government.
